Aggressive snake We had a huge black snake, 5' 6" getting into our basement and killing our beautiful blue birds then it tried to get into our house and my dog and I had to fight it off. It was outside the sliding glass door when I opened it. It was very aggressive and was given every opportunity to go back to the woods where it belongs but it refused. I threw it out into the yard twice, with a hoe, but it continued to come back, approach me and my dog first attacking and striking at me and striking him in the face when he tried to protect me. It seemed possessed and was not of a right mind. I can only assume that it had had it's way for so long it thought it could take over our home. It struck my dog in the face so many times his eyes were swollen shut and we had to take him to the vet for a shot. That could have been me. It was a terrible experience, which could have been avoided if it had just left us along. It was a very scary experience!

I have a vacation cabin on Norris Lake in Tenn. Arriving with dogs in tow, we prepared to go to bed. pulling off the plastic covers to protect the bedding from dust and mice poop I noticed a large snake skin on the bed under the plastic cover. Yelling for my son to come look at the skin, and not knowing if the owner of the skin could still be around, I wanted him to search the cabin. My son had searched the cabin and reported he could not find any snakes but he also found another skin in the bathroom. This one was wrapped around the towel rod and down in the bathroom sink. This cabin has been in my family for 50years but I have not gone back.

Black Snake

I was fishing in Autralia, outside of Darwin for Barramundi and it was snake mating season, standing on the banks of the river, noted this snake swimming towards me from across the river, snake came out of the river and appeared very aggressive so I and three others moved back to thge pick up and eventually climbed in the back of the pick as this snake circled around the pick up, we eventually gave up on fishing and retired to the "pub."

rattler in my house!

this past fall, my family and I were outside and about in the nice weather. I had fixed supper and decided it would be nice to eat outside; so my husband went inside to get the cushions for outside furniture. We store them just inside the kitchen door, in the corner stacked on the tile floor. After my husband went in, he started screaming "get out of the house... Keep the kids away". At first I thought the house was on fire, then he finally told me the snake was in the house. My husband stayed in the kitchen with it and I outside until TWRA came and got it out of our home. We had not used those cushions in a long time and there was dried snake poo all over them. I have to wonder how long it was in my house!

Young Copperhead Visitor

We have a bigger dog, Sam, in a fenced in area in our back yard and I feed him morning and night. It is usually dark when he gets his evening meal and I usually always carry my little dachsund, Maggie, with me. I have been doing his for 10 years and have never seen a snake on the walkway there. This night Maggie was running ahead as usual when I noticed something under her that didn't look familiar. I then realized it was a copperhead about 14 inches long and it's head was up about three inches right under her belly and right beside her left hind leg. I stayed really still but yelled for my husband to come. The snake lowered it's head and I pulled Maggie safely off it very quickly. It amazes me that the snake didn't bite her.

Blazin Trails

I was out walking at Radnor Lake yesterday. I came down the path and saw something that didn't look right so I got a little closer and saw that it was a snake but I couldn't make out what kind. A man came up behind me and I showed it to him and he stepped around and looked and said Oh Boy that's a bad one its a rattle snake. The rattle was blended in with the ground from where I was I couldn't see it and the head was in the bushes looking at us. I was mere feet away from stepping on it but fortunately I was able to spot it before I got to close to get bit. This looked to be about a 3 1/2 ft snake and around 8 years old or so based on the size of the rattle. I didn't realize rattlers were out there like that. Now when I go out there I am really paying attention to every step I make.
