The Tennessee State Capitol was completed in 1859 and is situated high upon a Downtown Nashville hilltop in the North Capitol Neighborhood. The Tennessee State Capitol is rumored to be haunted and it even has several people buried on the grounds as well as a few actually buried within its walls.
Today, the Tennessee State Capitol continues to remain as a functional part of Tennessee Government and is home to the House of Representatives, and the Senate. The Tennessee State Capitol offers a free self-guided walking tours to the general public as well as guided educational tours.
