New at the Zoo are two red ruffed lemurs (a male and a female) along our Bamboo Trail. Like all lemurs, the red ruffed variety is native to the island nation of Madagascar.

The Nashville Zoo is located on the Grassmere Property in South Nashville and features the largest community built playground in the United States, over 300 animals on exhibit, as well as offering it's visitors a chance to explore the Historic Croft Home, originally built around 1810.
