Hadari, one of Nashville Zoo's four female African elephants, splashes in a mud hole earlier this year. Using their trunks to spray mud on their skin, elephants protect themselves from sun and insects.

The Nashville Zoo is located on the Grassmere Property in South Nashville and features the largest community built playground in the United States, over 300 animals on exhibit, as well as offering it's visitors a chance to explore the Historic Croft Home, originally built around 1810.
