Joe Blanton: Professional Baseball Player

Joseph Matthew Blanton was born in Nashville on Dec 11th, 1980 and grew up in Franklin and Brownsville Kentucky. He played high school ball at Franklin-Simpson High and college ball for the University of Kentucky.
In 2002, Joe was drafted (24th in the 1st round) into Major League Baseball and signed by the MLB Oakland Athletics. He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in the summer of 2008 and just in time for the World Series.
