Nashville Star Season 5 Premiere Show
The guys had their turns next and the first to perform in the spotlight was David St Romain performing "Wave On Wave."
-Randy advised "You have your priorities in the right place."
-"I love the confidence you have", commented Anastasia.
-Blake said "I want to hear more David and less Pat Green. Drop the guitar, your voice is your strength".

Zac Hacker performed an original song that I think was called "Honey You Turn Me ON"
-Anastasia chimed "Love your story, but your sister kicked you tonight."(she was referring to Angela Hacker".
-Blake's comment - It's nerve wracking playing in front of Randy. I noticed you looking over at him a lot during your song. (Zac's supporters and signs were in back of Randy).
-Randy Owens praised him with "Got to tell you, you have a shot to win the whole thing. You can sing anything, so pick a better song."

Tim LaRoche totally spotlighted his guitar playing and played down his voice in his rendition of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"
- "I promised myself not to let the guitar and your hair distract me. But I don't know if you can sing because your playing hypnotized me", commented Blake.
-Randy Owens chimed in with "The guitar was awesome, but it was pitchy."
Anastasia said "I love guitar players. Your future may be playing guitar for the Nashville Star winner.

Joshua Stevens hit me as a "Lance Miller look-alike"(contestant from Nashville Star 2). He did a wonderful rendition of "My Wish" that left tears in everyone's eyes, but his high tenor voice cracked a couple times.
-Randy Owens, "I like how you came out, no guitar, laid it on the line, you have a love for your children."
-"You are the best male singer in this competition", commented Anastasia.
-Blake advised "Good job on the song, but breathe. I thought you'd pass out."

The last contestant of the evening was Dustin Wilkes putting some southern soul in his rendition of "Put Some Drive in your Country".
-Randy Owens, "That was great. The first time I saw Garth Brooks he was a bit like you tonight. Great competition, you have a shot to win."
-Anastasia, brought him down by saying "I must disagree. Being an outlaw doesn't mean you have to be angry. I didn't feel joy. You have room for growth."
-Blake said "little pitchy but good."

After a few minutes of deliberation off stage, the decision was made to have Tim LaRoche go home.
This was a wonderful night for the start of Nashville Star. This years winner will be receiving a recording contract with Warner Brothers records.
Til Next Week, Lisa
