Welcome Back to The Fourth Season of Nashville Star in it's Second Week- Live from the Acuff Theatre in Nashville Tennessee.
Once again there was a predominant Chris Young and Matt Mason showing of fans for this weeks Nashville Star.
This week's guest judge was Larry The Cable Guy.
Gretchen Wilson rocked the house with Politically Uncorrect and Ain't You Glad We Aren't All California Girls. While Gretchen rocked the house it was the contestants who brought the house down.
Matt Mason was Born To Boogie and he had the stage presence to go with it. Phil Vassar told him he looked like a star. Anastasia agreed with Phil's comments. Larry remarked Matt is a great singer.
Nicole Jamrose sang Trick Pony's Pour Me and made her presence known on stage without her guitar this time. While Anastasia liked the performance she thought she looked awkward without the guitar. Phil compared her to Cheryl Crowe and also wants to see her bring the guitar back. Larry is well Larry and thought she had the wrong top on.
Jared Ashley chose Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy for his performance. Phil thought he did a great job and liked him getting the crowd involved. Anastasia told him he "really rocked tonight." Would like to see him make songs more his own. Larry said if he had closed his eyes he would have sworn it was Big & Rich minus the dancing girls.
Melanie Torres sang My Give A Damn's Busted. We saw a more sultry side of her this week. It was a good performance over all. Larry commented that that was the tightest his pants had been since he ate his last pie.
Chris Young gave us his rendition of Drinkin My Baby Goodbye. Chris gave a much improved performance over last week. Phil told Chris he sounded great tonight and thought he looked more at home and believed his performance. Anastasia said he was better but was still hovering in the middle of the group performance wise. Larry thought Chris made a good song choice and even thanked Chris because Chris let Larry use his razor before the show.
Casey Rivers sang Modern Day Bonnie & Clyde. I didn't much care for his performance especially the little "duck walk" he did across the stage at one point. Larry seemed to like the duck walk, and thanked Casey for lending him a pair of underwear. Anastasia said he was better than last week but still needs to step up his performance. Phil simply said he's a great singer.
Monique LeCompte sang Guys Do It All The Time. Her over all performance was better. Phil said she sang great and loved her attitude. Anastasia told her she had a beautiful voice but the performance was "just ok". Larry said she done good and he enjoyed her.
Kristen McNamera belted out Fancy but her stage presence consisted of standing in the same spot on the stage. Phil said she sang great and was most improved to which Anastasia agreed. Larry thought she was good last week and again this week.
As you know each week one contestant is sent home and this week we had to say to goodbye to Shy Blakeman. Good luck in all you do Shy!!
