Nashville Star 2004: A Year End Review

Nashville Star 2: Where are They Now?

From Jan Duke, for About.com

Stacy Michelle
Stacy was booted off the Nashville Star Show early on, but in reality, she was the last one to have business dealings with USA Network as she appeared and performed on the regular USA series, Monk several months after the finale of Nashville Star, additionally she performed in the USA Network Special, "Willie Nelson and Friends" with some of the greats as Merle Haggard, Toby Keith, Bob Dylan and Keith Richards. Rumor has it that you can hear her on the forthcoming Jerry Lee Lewis CD along with more greats like Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Kris Kristofferson, Eric Clapton, and Kid Rock. Stacy really never got a chance to show her true talent on Nashville Star but she is an amazing performer, an all round nice lady and we're sure happy that she's keeping such good company on her road to stardom.

Lance Miller
Lance went on the road with the Nashville Star Tour last summer and it really enhanced his stage presence and performance skills. Lance has been staying busy recording demo songs and he has also been in the studio with the Warren Brothers, working on several of his songs that are being presented to RCA. He also has been seen numerous times on the Nashville circuit and this past fall, he even got to meet one of his inspirations, George Jones. What did George Jones think of Lance? Well, we hear he was quite impressed with Lance. Even though Lance didn't win the Nashville Star competition, we still put Lance on the top of our list as one of the real winners in life, a real nice guy and one who will do all that he could to help someone in need.

Mal Rogers
Mal was headed to Nashville and even made a few pit stops here and there, but more often not. Eventually, Mal landed somewhere in Illinois, but not before racking up more frequent flyer miles than any other Nashville star contestant. Rumor has it that he has been struck with Cupid's Arrow.

Marty Slayton
Marty Slayton was one of the most under rated artists on the second season of Nashville Star. The Nashville Star show failed to show what a great team player and cheerleader, that Marty is. By her graciously allowing others to take the spotlight, she was eliminated. Currently Marty is once again singing background vocals for George Strait, on the road and on his upcoming CD, and has also just completed singing vocals on Buddy Jewell's upcoming CD. This past year, Marty has been seen on the CMA's, the PBS tribute to George Jones, and at several songwriter's nights and charity benefits. Marty has completed his CD titled Plan B, which will hopefully be released to radio in the near future.
