Question: How did the city of Nashville get it's name?

Hi Jan,
I'm wondering how the city of Nashville got it's name.
I was told there was a guy who had a business called Nash Lumber Co. in Glidden, Wi. who moved to the Nashville area and that's how it got the name Nashville.
Is there any truth to this?
Thanks

Answer: Hi,
No, Nashville was named after Revolutionary War hero General Francis Nash (1742-1777).
