Question: Middle Tennessee Relocation Help

Hello!
We are considering a move to Middle Tennessee within the next year and I want to learn about the real "personality" or "character" of the different areas in Middle Tennessee counties. Can you could point me to some useful resources, I would really appreciate it!!

Where can we find homes with some land?
What areas have the best small town qualities?
Which areas are expecting future growth?
What about the school systems?
What about the crime rates in the different areas?
Which areas are considered friendly?
Is there someone who could show me around?
Thanks for any information you can provide!

Answer: Hi, Here is a link to Nashville's official city page that will show you all of the cities and demographics. It will have links to tons of other links in the area including schools, neighborhood profiles, etc...

- Where can we find homes with a good amount of land?
The further you get out of Davidson County the more land you will find. Williamson County is the highest while Cheatham, Robertson, and Dickson would be some of the lowest and under developed.

- What areas have the best "small town" qualities?
Franklin, Pegram, Leiper's Fork, Belle Meade, Forrest Hills, Lebanon, Brentwood, Hendersonville and Pleasant View are a few of the one's that I like.

- Which areas are expecting to grow a lot in next 20 years?
Wilson, Robertson, Sumner, Dickson and Cheatham Counties Williamson and Rutherford County have been growing by leaps and bounds over the last 10 years.

- How do I learn about the school systems?
Wilson and Williamson are known locally to have some of the best public schools in the area, although I checked out the local schools at Tennessee Board of Education site before finally we built our home and found that the schools really do vary dramatically from county to county and even school to school.
I checked the the schools test scores, demographics, etc... the schools that our children would be attending was our families deciding factor in relocating to our current home. Here's a link to (this is also part of Tennessee's official website.)

- How do I learn about the crime rates in the different areas?
Davidson County has the highest crime rate in the area with most of North Nashville, parts of east Nashville, Trinity Lane area, parts of Antioch, and parts of Murfreesboro Road being what I call hazardous at night. I would travel to most any other area alone at night without worry.

- Which areas are considered friendly?
Ha, Most of the people born and raised in Tennessee are friendly by nature, so just about any area is and will be just as friendly as you make it. Although in some of the more rural area's you will find that the "ole timer's" are a bit leery of new neighbors at least for awhile. The towns I listed above are all very friendly and have smaller populations.

- If I were to visit Nashville later this year, is there someone who could show me around?
-How would I locate such a person? (I'm assuming it would be a real estate person)
I would check with Crye Leike, Caldwell Banker and Remax for a real estate agent as they could determine your housing range better than anyone else, but when you get it narrowed down a bit, I have been know to give some additional input and insights.

One suggestion I always make to anyone looking to relocate to the Nashville Area is to rent a place for your 1st year here and that way you can discover Nashville and Middle Tennessee in depth to find your perfect niche and home.
Hope this helps and feel free to contact me anytime,
Good Luck
