Question: Athens of the South
Why do you never say that Nashville was also known as the Athens of the South ? (because of the Parthenon) I have made several trips to Nashville and I always make a point to visit Centennial Park.
Answer: Honestly, Nashville has had several nicknames over the years and while I have made reference to Athens of the South in several articles, I normally do just go by it's current nickname Music City as do many others outside of the historical field. Maybe one day Nashville will garner a new nickname worthy of it.
