Antioch – Priest Lake Overview:

The Antioch and Priest Lake Community, located in southeast Davidson county, contains Nashville’s largest body of water, Percy Priest Lake, and is also home to the Nashville Airport. It is bordered to the North by Briley Parkway and the Airport; to the east by I-24; to the south by Rutherford County and to the west by Wilson County.

County:

Local Trivia:

For nearly 100 years, from 1851-1995, the Southeast Community was home to the Tennessee Hospital for the Insane. Just the name alone indicates it's somewhat checkered and troubled past which included a couple of lost asylum cemeteries due to the fact that most graves there didn't receive headstones or markers.
The asylum was once located on the corner of Murfreesboro Road & Donelson Pike, but was finally razed several years ago when one of the original buildings, a Gothic Revival landmark designed by Nashville architect Adolphus Heiman, was destroyed to make way for the incoming Dell Corporation.
