David Taylor Price was born in August 26th, 1985 in Murfreesboro and grew up in Middle Tennessee Community of Rutherford County.
He played high school ball at Blackman High School and college ball for the Vanderbilt University.
In 2005, just after high school, he was drafted by the MLB but instead chose to attend Vandy on an athletic scholarship.
In 2007, David was drafted into Major League Baseball and signed with the Tampa Bay Rays.
David made his MLB debut in September of 2008 which was soon followed, in October, by his World Series debut making him one of the least-seasoned pitchers to ever appear in the World Series. This debut win also garnered David another place in baseball history as only the fourth pitcher in baseball history to record a postseason win before a regular season win.
David Price's early, yet vast, list of athletic accomplishments, just to name a few, include playing in the High School All-America Game; for Vandy (3 seasons); for the United States National Team and in the 2006 World University Championships.
