Nashville offers almost two weeks of related Martin Luther King events that range from a Celebration March to a night out at the Symphony. Let Freedom Ring Concert
The Annual Let Freedom Ring Concert is being held on Sunday Night at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center (photos) at 7pm with the Nashville Symphony. Let Freedom Ring is nearly 20 years old and is always booked solid and vouchers go fast so you had better get them early.This one-night-only event is free and offers plenty of performances, as they say "to remind us all of the inherent value of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
Martin Luther King Jr. Day March
Nashville's Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day March begins at 11:30 on Monday at the Jefferson Street Baptist Church, and following the march there's also a MLK day convocation scheduled at the Gentry Complex at Tennessee State University. Dr. Darryl Jordan, Chief Medical Director, Nashville Metro General Hospital at Meharry is scheduled to be their keynote speaker this year.
Along with the MLK March, the Interdenominational Minister's Fellowship MLK hosts a series of other MLK celebrations in conjuction with serveral other organizations including TSU, Tennessee Jazz & Blues Society, and more. IMF normally runs events all week long and some include;

The Cultural Roots of MLK, Jr.
The Scaritt Bennett Center's Martin Luther lectures takes an inside look into the cultural roots, traditions, teachings and philosophies that shaped MLK, Jr. along with others whose lives have led to greatness The cost is $40, but it's free if you are a student and pre-register. You get a choice of four different dates for this event.

Vanderbilt University hosts this Commemorative Series that runs almost two weeks long and includes everything from films about Martin Luther King, Jr. to Lectures and Seminars- it's enough to make you dizzy.

Dr. Martin Luther King Day Celebration
On Monday, the Children's Museum at Discovery Center at Murfree Spring is hosting a Free Admission day in honor of the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr. There will be plenty of special activities for the day and will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm
Lipscomb University MLK Birthday Celebration
On January 15th, Lipscomb University is host to this discussion by a panel of respected Nashvillians on the influence of Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil rights era. There will also be performances of poetry, acoustic music and even birthday cake.
