Conceived by Mr. Lobel's daughter, Adrianne Lobel, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows two great friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special. Ongoing EventCheekwood’s Museum of Art will celebrate its long tradition of collecting with its Permanent Residents exhibition, presenting selected treasures by American artists whose works have become part of the museum’s extensive collection of paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture, and decorative arts. The exhibition will include Cheekwood’s renowned portrait miniature collection and works by artists including Robert Henri, George Luks, Andy Warhol, Jamie Wyeth and many more. Special galleries will be dedicated to two Nashville-born artists: painter-sculptor Red Grooms and African-American sculptor William Edmonson.
