Tennessee State University Profile:
Tennessee State University currently offers over 40 undergraduate programs, 20 graduate programs, along with several doctorate programs.. The student population is normally just under 10,000 annually.TSU has two campuses; the main campus is located just off the banks of the Cumberland River in North Nashville consisting of over 500 acres, and including nearly 70 buildings. TSU's other campus is the recently renovated Avon Williams campus located on 10th Avenue near the Tennessee State Capitol.
Local Information:
In the late 1970's,TSU merged with the former UT at Nashville in a court ordered merger that stemmed from one of the longest running lawsuits in the state, known as the Geier lawsuit which spanned a whopping 38 years. The lawsuit was finally settled out of court in 2006.Chronological Timeline:
