Guide Review - Call Me Huck - Rick Huckaby
Better known as Huck, this rising Nashville Indy artist, Rick Huckaby, has definitely paid his dues to Nashville's Music Scene over the years. Rick has not only managed to get his music on the charts but also amazingly manages to operate his own record label, Head Coach Records.
Rick Huckaby has a rich and souful voice that's highlighted in several tracks including Ain't Enough Blacktop, City Life and most especially, Sing It to You. But don't let Rick's soulfulness fool all of you die-hard country folks because several tracks on this album also showcase a more southern rock style similar to Montgomery Gentry. These tracks include; My Bad, Mash the Gas, and Can't Miss Kid.
While he's been a part of the Nashville Music Scene for several years now you can still capture hints of his Cajun essence and country background beginning with the title track I Got You Covered followed up by She gets High on Me.
One of the greatest things about this CD is the fact that not only did Rick write and/or co-write every single track, but his writing skills are very impressive and shine through, from start to finish.
If you like artists such as James Otto and Jack Ingram then this release is a must have for your CD collection.
Overall, Rick has produced a well-rounded CD that showcases plenty of various facets and style that country music consumers expect.
