Shelly Rann Showcase at the Tin Roof

Shelly Rann Showcase at the Tin Roof

From

We first heard of Shelly Rann a few years ago, when we were invited to El Chico’s to dinner with some friends and we have followed her career progress since.
Shelly has her regular gig every Friday Night at El Chico’s Mexican Restaurant and has been seen performing around town at various benefits over the last few years and even earned a regional finalists spot in the Nashville Star Reality Show competitions in 2004. So naturally when we heard that she had written a bunch of new songs and was having a showcase at the Tin Roof we had to go.

Evidently Shelly’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed by Nashville be cause when we arrived, the Tin Roof was filled but we were lucky enough to find a few friends who graciously allowed us to join them at their table.
She began her showcase with ”One Good Burn”and followed up with (set list)-
May the Better Man Win
No Yesterday
Hell on Heels
Chains
Truth Serum
One Man Woman

And finally Shelly finished up with Doc Rots, a whimsical song and one of my favorites, that depicts a woman casting her fishing line for a man and the lyrics go somewhat like this “Hoping that my ship comes in before my doc rots” .
The song, “Doc Rots” was a great way to end her showcase and it really showed the humorous side of Shelly and the wide span of her artistic abilities.

Shelly has a new CD coming out shortly entitled- Acoustic Heart! That is filled with all original music from Shelly. This will be Shelly’s fourth CD and no doubt it will contain some of her best work to date.
