Will it be country or pop? No doubt, that’s the question on everyone’s mind when LeAnn Rimes releases a new cd. I don’t think it really matters anymore. LeAnn just has her own style, makes her own music and she definitely shows it on her new release, “This Woman.” Don’t even try to classify it or her, into pop or country. She’s both, so either you like her or don’t. You can buy her music or not. She had already sold 30 million albums before this one was even released. That says it all. One thing for sure, LeAnn does things her way.

On this album she shows us how she has certainly matured into a beautiful young woman who’s vocal ability stands on its own. Listening to the cd over and over, a couple songs seem to bleed into the next one, because they have the same beat, tempo and similar music. What I mean is, after listening to it just a couple times, afterward, it almost seemed like a blur. Nothing really jumped out at me as being that great or memorable. I’m not saying it wasn’t great, just maybe it could have been laid out a little differently. But, if you can separate the songs, really listening to them individually, I think most all the songs are really good and they fit Mrs. Rimes perfect. There are several slow songs on the cd that should make country radio & country fans happy. Maybe she will get a lot of airplay with the right choices made on the singles released to radio, like she has already with the 1st release “Nothin ‘Bout Love Makes Sense.”
