When is Tennessee Tornado Season?

Tornados are unpredictable and can happen any time of year although almost two-thirds of tornadoes that have occurred in Middle Tennessee have taken place in the spring months of March, April, and May.
Sitting in fourth place is November and while it really pales in comparison, with having less than half the tornado activity as any of the spring months, it still needs to be watched more closely.
Coming in 5th – 9th place are; January, February, June, August, and October.

The months that Tornadoes are least likely to occur are during the months of July, September, and December.

Did You know?
If you combine all Tornado Activity from the months of June through February, the total tornado activity is still lower than any one of the spring months.
