Tresa Street made a recent appearance at the infamous Tootsies Lounge on Broadway. While I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Tresa Street before, I was looking forward to hearing some excellent music by her and her band once again.

The sound tech was late so Miss Street used the time to rub elbows with the Tootsies patrons that had come to enjoy an afternoon of music. She walked around greeting folks, saying hello to those she knew, introducing herself to those she didn't, taking pictures with those who ask and encouraging folks to hang around for the show. All of this with a smile, a happy attitude and letting folks know that it just made her day to be visiting with them.

After the sound tech arrived it didn't take long to make ready for the band to take the stage. The band did a couple of songs and introduced the person that we all had been waiting to see, Tresa Street. She immediately took the stage to plenty of cheers and applause.

Tresa sings a little of everything and makes it her own. She is also an excellent songwriter and performed some of her originals. Tresa has a sound that is as unique as she is. I have read that if you close your eyes and imagine Wynonna, Tammy Wynnette, a hint of Cher and Tina Turner that would be the best way to describe her sound, but I would like to add Billie Holiday in the mix.
However, she is just, undeniably, Tresa Street and she is, in my eyes, the real deal.

Welcome to Nashville, a place where you can spend a wonderful afternoon of excellent music in one of the world’s most famous honky-tonks listening to a great artist any day of the week
