For anyone who wanted to sit back and listen to good music, and at a great price - "free", it was all to be found under the six-thousand square foot tent near Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame. With the various styles available on the stage throughout the weekend, it was really one of the best places to hang out for any music lover!
There was definitely something for everyone. The event kicked off Wednesday with a night of bluegrass music and the genre was well-represented throughout the weekend. Such acts as Larry Stephenson (Pinecastle), Melonie Cannon (Skaggs Family Records), King Wilkie (Rebel Records), the Grascals (Rounder), Alecia Nugent (Rounder), the Bluegrass Parlor Band, Michelle Nixon & Drive (Pinecastle), Patty Mitchell, Adrienne Young & Little Sadie (Addiebelle Music) all performed to highly receptive crowds. There was even some star-power in the audience as country singer, Neal McCoy, came by the first night to sit in the audience and listen to a little bluegrass.
Also featured several of the Nashville Star finalists from season one including the female favorite, Jamey Garner (Sony Records), Prentiss Varnon (working on major label deal), along with Nashville Star runner-upJohn Arthur Martinez (DualTone), Anne Louise Blythe with friend Heather Heacox, and Amy Chappell with friend Jason Jones.
Mainstream, Traditional Country and Southern Rock was covered with acts such as Little Big Town (formerly on Sony, now with Clint Black's Equity Records), JR Bollinger, Amanda Wilson (Dreamworks), Nicole Witt, and Shay Asby & Last Call.
