Opryland Gingerbread Corner

Opryland - A Country Christmas

By , About.com Guide

From the third week of November through Christmas week, Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Resort (compare prices) is host to "A Country Christmas" which includes the viewing their spectacular holiday lights, from attending the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, and ICE! to taking a General Jackson Holiday Cruise, browsing through the Treasures for the Holidays Craft Show to taking a Gingerbread-Making Class. It is four weeks of non-stop holiday fun!

I took off one morning to go the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Resort and watch one of their Gingerbread-Making Classes -little did I know that I along with several others would be taking on a private classroom role, in the Opryland kitchen, as students of Opryland's Executive Pastry Chef, David Schawb, better known as "Professor Sweets."

These classes are taught by elves and part of Opryland's Annual "A Country Christmas" Celebration.
The classes are normally held in the Winter Wonderland Area (as opposed to the Opryland Kitchen) in the Gingerbread Corner.

Guests have a choice of decorating either a miniature gingerbread house ornament or a gingerbread man. The small children tend to do better with the gingerbread men and the classes are a great way to enjoy an afternoon of relaxing holiday fun with your friends and family. They are a ton of fun for the young and young at heart.

As you can see, the Gingerbread-Making Classes are a ton of fun!
