"Celebrate Nashville" as Nashville's government, neighborhoods, organizations, and community groups host a nine month long series of festivities and events commemorating the 200th anniversary of Nashville's government charter.

"Celebrate Nashville" will be celebrating and highlighting, some of the things, that make Nashville unique and special. The Celebrate Nashville Campaign runs from October 1st, 2006 through July 4th, 2007 and will focus on a different theme each month.

January's Theme: Business

January 6th
Walk in the Park
Walk in the Park with Mayor Purcell in Bells Bend Park located at Old Hickory Boulevard.

January 7th
Battle of New Orleans Commemoration
The Hermitage celebrates the Battle of New Orleans Commemoration and is offering Free admission.

January 9th
The Spirit of Nashville
The Spirit of Nashville Collection will be on exhibit January 9th through February 27th in Vanderbilt University's new Ingram Art Center.

January 10th
Shakespeare Theatre Association of America
10th-13th The Shakespeare Theatre Association of America is holding their Conference in Nashville from January 10th through the 13th.

January 12th
Nickel and Dimed
The Tennessee Women's Theater Project presents "Nickel and Dimed," the stage adaptation of the best-selling book of the same name at the Z. Alexander Looby Theater located at 2301 Metro Center Boulevard. The production will run thru the end of January so make sure to call or visit them online for additional dates and times.

January 13th
Celtic Music Series
The Nashville Public Library is hosting a Celtic Music Series at 11am at the Nashville Public Library.

January 14th
Annual Let Freedom Ring Concert
The annual Let Freedom Ring Concert will be honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day . It's free and begins at 7 p.m.

January 15th
Martin Luther King Day March
Martin Luther King Day march down Jefferson Street begins at 11 a.m. followed by a Convocation at the Gentry Center at noon.

January 18th
Celebrating Art in Schools
The Celebrating Art in Schools awards ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. and will determine the three students who will have their art displayed on billboards across the city. This is an Invitation only event.

January 21st
Christ Church Cathedral Organ Concert
Christ Church Cathedral Organ Concert with David Hurd begins at 4 p.m.

January 23rd
AmMed Direct Ribbon Cutting
AmMed Direct ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 10 a.m. welcoming a this new business to Nashville.
