Celebrate Nashville - December Events

"Celebrate Nashville" as Nashville's government, neighborhoods, organizations, and community groups host a nine month long series of festivities and events commemorating the 200th anniversary of Nashville's government charter.

"Celebrate Nashville" will be celebrating and highlighting, some of the things, that make Nashville unique and special. The Celebrate Nashville Campaign runs from October 1st, 2006 through July 4th, 2007 and will focus on a different theme each month.

December 1st
-Spirit of Nashville
Spirit of Nashville Art Collection is on display at the Mall at Green Hills through December 31st
-Drifting along the Nile
Collecting Images of Egypt and Anna Jaap: The Infinite Landscape, Drawings and Paintings exhibits on display at the Nashville Public Library.
-Holiday Season Exhibition
Centennial Art Center Paintings, pottery, sculpture & more by Metro Parks' art students. Benefits Arts in the Parks. Opening reception: December 1st, 5-7pm at the Prescott Smith- Outdoor Sculpture Centennial Art Center
-Nashville's Annual Christmas Parade
Nashville Gas Christmas Parade begins at 7pm
-Holiday Concert
Holiday Concert with the Gower Elementary School Chorus 12:00 p.m.at the Nashville Public Library

December 2nd
-Walk in the Park
Walk in the Park with Mayor Purcell Downtown Greenway beginning at 9 am at Farmers Market and continuing to Riverfront Park.
-Celtic Music Series & 2006 Teen Film Festival
Nashville Public Library is hosting a Celtic Music Series at 11am and the 2006 Teen Film Festival at 2pm

December 3rd
-“Lessons & Carols” Concert
The St. George's Church Choir hosts "Lessons & Carols" Concert at 6 pm.
-Bluegrass Concert
Bluegrass Concert at the Nashville Public Library with the Piatt Family Band at 2:30 pm.

December 5th
Mediterranean Christmas
Christ Church Cathedral Boston Camerata: Mediterranean Christmas sponsored by Lipscomb University at 8pm.

December 7th
-80th Annual Waffle Shop
The Downtown Presbyterian Church hosts their Annual Waffle Shop from 11 am until 2pm. the cost is $6.50.
-Holiday Family Movie Night
The Madison Library is having a Holiday Family Movie Night starting at 5:30 pm

December 8th
-Holiday Concert Series
A Holiday Concert Series at the Nashville Public Library begins at 12pm.
-Christmas Tour of Homes
Lockeland Springs Christmas Tour of Homes begins on December 8th and runs thru December 10th

December 9th
Little Donkey
TPAC Family Field Trip series "Little Donkey" starts at 2pm

December 13th
Nashville Unlimited
Christ Church Cathedral Nashville Unlimited: Dave Pomeroy & Friends Benefit for Room in the Inn starts at 7:30 pm.

December 14th
Movies at Main
Nashville Public Library presents Movies at Main beginning at 6pm.

December 15th
Menorah Lighting
-The Menorah Lighting is happening at the Riverfront Park at 3pm.
-Holiday Fun and Crafts
Nashville Public Library hosts Holiday fun and crafts on December 15th & 16th begining at 10:30 am.
-Nutcracker
The Nashville Ballet's Nutcracker Tchaikovsky's classic score performed live by The Nashville Symphony thru the 23rd.

Frist Free Day
First Tennessee Frist Free Day at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.

December 22nd
Nashville Double Reed Ensemble
Nashville Public Library hosts the Nashville Double Reed Ensemble at 12:00 pm.

December 23rd
Celtic Music Series
Nashville Public Library hosts the Celtic Music Series at 11 am at the Nashville Public Library.
