The State of Tennessee
does not have its own minimum wage law therefore Federal Minimum Wage Law
applies to employees in Tennessee.
The federal minimum wage provisions are contained in the Fair Labor Standards Act
and currently the federal minimum wage for covered, nonexempt employees is $7.25 per hour.
Please note that under specific circumstances and conditions, the federal minimum wage can vary for tipped employees, workers with disabilities, and students.
For example - tipped employees can earn as little as $2.13 per hour but only if their tips average out to $7.25 or more per hour.
