-Olympic cyclist, Phyllis Hines was born in Nashville on September 23rd, 1961.
-Local Politician and Sheriff, Lafayette Christopher Thomas, also known as Fate C. Thomas, was born in Nashville on September 23, 1926.Fate was indicted in 1990 on 54 counts of abusing his power as sheriff and was sentenced to five years in prison. Fate died in Nashville in July of 2000 following heartbypass surgery.
