2000 Local Politician and Sheriff, Lafayette Christopher Thomas, also known as Fate C. Thomas, wdied in Nashville on July 25, 2000 following heartbypass surgery.Fate was indicted in 1990 on 54 counts of abusing his power as sheriff and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Country singer and songwriter, Bobby Hebb, most famous for the song entitled “Sunny”, was born in Nashville on July 26, 1941.

July 27th
In 1952, temperatures at Nashville reach 107 degrees and sets an all-time record high.

July 28th
On July 28th, 2006, the Hawkins family who’s lives were forever changed a year earlier by a tornado, were awakened at their rental home by the familiar sound of Extreme Makeovers’ Ty Pennington voice saying "Good morning Hawkins family."
