Tootsie's Orchid Lounge opened in downtown Nashville on March 19th, 1960.

March 20th
-Vanderbilt and George Peabody Colleges merge as one on March 20th, 1979.
-Country Musician, John "Hillbilly" Henderson is born in Nashville in 1901

March 21st
Nashville born, Peter Hardeman Burnett, elected as California's first Governor in 1849, was sworn into office on March 21st, 1850.

March 22nd
-Actor, James Westerfield was born in Nashville on March 22nd, 1913.
-On March 22, 1916, a fire in East Nashville destroys over 600 buildings and leaves 3,000 homeless.

March 23rd
-Timothy Demonbreun, commonly known as the "first citizen" of Nashville, Tennessee is born on March 23rd, 1747.
-20 Tornadoes rip thru Tennessee, killing 5 on March 23rd, 1991.

March 24th
-Street sprinklers were first introduced in Nashville on March 24th, 1860.
-Nashville Civil Rights Leader, Z. Alexander Looby dies on March 24th, 1972.

March 25th
In 1985, Tennessean Columnist and Lipscomb College Educator, Athens Clay Pullias died today at the age of 74.
