March 5th
-Longtime Librarian and Treasurer of the First Baptist Church Sunday-School, Mr. A. H. Hicks, dies on March 5th, 1876.
-In 1963, Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, and Harold "Hankshaw" Hawkins were killed in a plane crash in Camden TN.

March 6th
Nashville dedicates Watkins Institute; it's first free school for the poor on March 6th, 1885.

March 7th
TNN's Nashville Now talk show debuts and is hosted by Ralph Emery on March 7th, 1983.

March 8th
Ex-Governor Aaron V. Brown dies on the March 8th, 1859.

March 9th
The last regular Saturday night performance of the Grand Ole Opry was performed at the Ryman Auditorium on March 9th, 1974.

March 10th
March 10th, 1855, an unsuccessful attempt was made to burn the Penitentiary.

March 11th
Joe Diffie and Theresa Crump were married in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel on March 11th, 2000.
