The Declaration of Independence
The Teacher asks Little Johnny..."Who signed the Declaration of Independence"? Johnny thinks for a minute, presses his lips tightly together, turns his head to the side and says..."I'll be damned if I know". The Teacher says...." That is completely inappropriate language for school, and we are going down to the Principle's office right now".
The Principle calls Little Johnny's Father; when he arrives, the teacher tells him that she had asked his son..."Who signed the Declaration of Independence" to which he replied "quote-un-quote" ..."I'll be damned if I know"
The Father tells them, that he will take Little Johnny out in the hall way and straighten this out immediately!!! Once in the hallway; Johnny's Father looks him straight in the eye, and says...."JOHNNY!!!...IF YOU SIGNED THE DAMNED THING,...OWN UP TO IT"!!!
