How 20 people set out to win
The title of Nashville Star

The Judges listened to the songs they sang
The contestants did their best
But in the end 5 contestants stayed
And 5 others were sent away

Then the judges called 5 more names
And all them were safe
But American had a choice to make

As the Curtin opened on the show
Nancy O'Dell held the name
Of America's choice for Nashville Star
It was Brad Cotters Name

The show went on and the Contestants Sang
As the judges they tried to impress
But as we know another name was
Was on the judge's list.

As they all stood on the stage that night
Awaiting the judges call
They all held hands and prayed real hard
That their name would not be called
They prayed their name would not be called

Nancy O'Dell once again
Held that name in her hand
She opened up the card and read
The Name of Gregory Delang

America once again was asked
To vote for their favorite star
When the final results were in
Stacy Michelle was gone
Stacy Michelle was gone.

Now they were down to nine my friends
And singing more cover songs
After all had the performed their songs that night
The judges cut one more

The gang had to say goodbye
To the bloke from Ireland
But Mal Rogers said he would be back again
And no one would stop him
No one would stop him.

Now we are down to eight my friends
And the voting it got ruff
But a mistake was made on air that night
And the voting it got stuffed

So the only fair thing to be done
Was to have all eight sing their songs
Then America would have their say
And send two more contestants home
And send two more contestants home

Now we wait for Saturday
To see who does goes home
And who remains upon the stage
To compete for that Nashville Star
To compete for that Nashville Star
