Lance Miller-"Big City"
The Judge's Views:
- Billy-Lance, I think the toughest thing about your performance is that I have to wait 40 minutes to have a beer, because every time you sing, I want to go and have a beer.
- Tracy- You know, my friend Bob Oermann once said if you're going to sound like somebody, sound like the master. You remind me of Merle Haggard and that's a good thing. You're Lance Miller and you made that a Lance Miller song tonight.
- Warren Bros.- Lance, our whole career, people have told us we're too rock 'n roll, but there's nothing that we love better than a great country voice, and I am so glad that America picked you to stay with Nashville Star. I'm glad you're back with us, I love country music and you look great in that suit, too, you're very happening.
After the commercial break, Nancy read the name of the final performer for the evening, and it was Matt Lindahl, meaning that Jennifer Hicks was the contestant to be leaving Nashville Star this evening.
Matt Lindahl-"Chug a Lug"
The Judge's Views:
- Billy- You have more personality than anybody I play on the radio.
- Warren Bros.- You know what, the industry didn't like us either. You are proof to me, that because you're still here, is because America wants to have some fun. Matt, you rock- keep doing it.
- Tracy- Oh boy, oh boy. Hey Matt. Matt, there is no doubt that you are a funny guy, and wonderful to watch, but it is crunch time now and we need to find a Nashville Star that will transcend this show and go on to have a career, a long career, with or without a television show and with saying that- I don't think you're a strong a vocalist as the other guys up there, but the thing is, Matt, what you have the potential to be is this decade's Roger Miller, but by doing that, you need to write songs like the great Roger Miller, and I think it would be a disservice to you to get a record deal now. Do you deserve a record deal, yes? Do you deserve this one? No.
