The Second Season of Nashville Star aired its third show, Saturday, March 20th, 2004
The Songs the Contestants selected were songs of "Love and Heartache". I don't think anyone will disagree; you cant get any more country, than songs like that.
The 10 Contestants came on stage, as Nancy O'Dell asked them to turn around, and look at the big screen behind them, to see which contestant, America had eliminated. All Contestants faces are shown, as they view the huge screen waiting to see who they must say Good bye to.
Sadly, Stacey Michelle is the contestant, which has to go.
Nancy tells Stacey she has a great voice, and asks if she has anything she wants to say. Stacey replies "As Ritchie Jones says, Thats the way the ball bounces baby; Theres always tomorrow"
As the nine remaining contestants leave the stage. Nancy ODell announces the guest of the night, Horizon Award Winner, Joe Nichols as he takes his place in the front row to later give advice to the contestants.
1st to perform Sheila Marshall of Austin, TX singing, "My Baby Loves me"
She said she selected this song because, it is about Unconditional Love that we all, are searching for. In the past the judges have felt she was close to being too rock but, the judges had this to say tonight:
- Tracy: Ill tell you, all of you are here because you are really good. Youre competing not only with each other but, with established artists and, rising stars. Is this something Unique for you to stand apart from the pack?
- Greenwood: Best performance was tonight.
- Warren Bros: We are fans of yours.
