Week 8- Nashville Star 2 - April 24, 2004 " Best Shot"

Once Again, Matt Lindahl is 1st on stage.

Matt Lindahl- "River in the Rain"

The Judge's Views:
  • Billy- I think radio might play that one.
  • Warren Bros.- I don't think you're as good a singer as the other guys left in this competition, but I almost want you to win, just to piss Tracy off. I love the red hat and I'm glad you never took it off. It shows stamina.
  • Tracy- If I didn't love you, you would've been gone the first round. But since I love you and I don't want to change anything about you. Unfortunately, with labels… radio is our partner and that's why I think you should make an independent record. I'll be the first one to buy it, I promise you.

Next up is George Canyon

George Canyon- "The Girl In My Head"

The Judge's Views:
  • Billy- I apologize for what I said before and I need 8 backstage passes.
  • Tracy- You guys are smoking something. I'll tell you what, even Billy Greenwood would play that song. That song's a smash.
  • Warren Bros.- You're definitely a star, but that song right there sounds really 1992 to me. It seemed a little dated and it's not 1992.

After the commercial break, Brad Cotter takes the Stage for the final performance of the evening.

Brad Cotter- "I Meant To"

The Judge's Views:
  • Billy- I'm finished talking to you and I'm just waiting for Nancy to give me the number to call to vote for you. You're the guy. (Billy was holding up his cell-phone)
  • Tracy- Wow, you wrote that song? That song is a career song. I think it's one of my favorite songs I've heard in a long time. You have the whole package. You are ready to make a record.
  • Warren Bros.- You've been the best singer on this show for about a month and I think you're definitely the best songwriter. That was great. You just bought yourself a crown my friend. You look like the next Nashville Star

Tune in to next week's Nashville Star for "The Grand Finale".
You will see performances by the three remaining finalists, and as an added bonus a visit from the other eight eliminated contestants. There will also be a Special guest appearance and performance from the talented LeeAnn Rimes.
In the end there will only be one "Nashville Star" left standing.
Good Luck to All.
