There is no doubt that the second season of Nashville Star will be on the top of Nashville's Must do list.
This season, you can expect to see some of the best up and coming Country Musicians from around the country perform live every week, from Nashville, Tennessee.
A total of 20 outstanding semi-finalists have been chosen, from regional competitions. They will be performing in front of a national audience on this season's Nashville Star, but by the end of the first show only 10 will remain. The viewing audience being asked to vote on the addition of an 11th finalist.
The show will be broadcast from the BellSouth Acuff, airing March 6th and running through May 1st. Contestants will once again vie to stay on the show week after week, as TV viewers cast votes (6.5 million TV votes were cast last year).
Returning to the show:
- Hollywoods Nancy O'Dell will be returning as the host.
- Sony's new, senior director of artist and repertoire, Tracy Gershon is returning as one of the judges. Yes, she gotten a "Big Promotion since last season."

- Expect to see appearances from some of the contestants of Nashville Star 1.
- Dale Libby, senior vice president of sales for Sony Music Nashville, has said that he expects to hand Buddy Jewell a gold record, when he makes a re-appearance on the next version of Nashville Star. According to this statement, we can assume that Buddy Jewell will make at least one appearance on this seasons show.
- Miranda Lambert, who finished as one of the top 3 contestants in last years Nashville Star Show, is set to appear and perform on Nashville Star 2.
- Willie Nelson is scheduled to make an appearance and perform in April. Expect to see the contestants perform some of Willies best- known hits. Other guests set to make appearances over the nine week series include Trace Adkins, Clint Black, Terri Clark, Rodney Crowell and Joe Nichols.
