The closing of the Jamboree is the latest chapter on the property that has a colorful history. The property was once the Blanket Store, which was a must-stop for tourists who traveled from Nashville to Clarksville on 41A prior to the opening of I-24. The Blanket Store had a vast selection of souvenirs along with the local legend "Omar the Snake man."
Other current businesses at the Jamboree property include the Potter and Clay Christian Bookstore and the Crossroads Barbershop, which leased space from Batts. Those businesses are expected to stay, but with a new landlord on February 1.
Keith Morgan, who is the managing partner of Pizza Done Right, purchased the property from Batts. Morgan said he was looking at several possible uses for the property including a furniture store, but nothing is definite at this point.
