An in-depth Interview with Chris Young

Meet Country Music Artist-Chris Young

By Jan Duke, About.com

What’s the Best day you’ve ever had?
Chris Young:
This is a hard one because I’ve had a lot of really cool days in my life. The day I got to perform on the Grand Ole Opry Stage was awesome, the day I got to perform at Kennedy Center was pretty awesome, going to the Grammy’s for the first time, and the day I picked up the first order of “A Little At a Time” from the printers! They’d probably all tie.

What’s the Best Day you could ever imagine?
Chris Young:
The Day I get to sign a record contract.

And last but not least-
Can you tell us about what goes on in a typical day for you?

Chris Young:
I get up and go to class because I’m still a full-time college student. After class, I usually work out for about an hour to an hour and a half, I’ll have a songwriting appointment with someone nearly everyday and that lasts about 2 hours, I play guitar for at least an hour, then have dinner, and study for about 2 hours. That’s about 10 hours of my day everyday. In the spare time that I have, I sing a lot to keep my voice in shape. I also usually perform someplace once or twice a week, and right now, a lot of those shows are out of town so I’m traveling a lot. I’m the happiest when I’m singing and writing though!

Editor’s Note:[br} Chris has a wonderful sense of humor to go along with his beautiful baritone voice. His love of Country Music lights up any room he’s in and his stage presence makes you feel like he’s performing for you alone.
