Nashville Hearts Local Shakespeare Festival
Monday September 14, 2009
When I learned that quite a few corporate sponsors backed out and /or cut back on their financial support of this year's Shakespeare Festival, I along with many other local Nashvillians were becoming a bit concerned that the Shakesfest would end up just as defunct at the once popular Riverfront Stages. The Shakespeare Festival has been one of Nashville's Favorite Annual Events for over twenty years and are considered by many to be one of the early forerunners in helping to re-build the local Arts & Cultural Scene.
But evidently, just the opposite has happened because according to Jessica Brooks over at the Tennessean, the local community actually ended up donating twice as much as it normally does - leaving the final Shakespeare Festival figures in the black! Yes, I'm pretty sure that it's safe to say that Nashville loves it's Shakespeare Festival!
You can learn more about the Shakespeare Festival, all of their other productions, and how you and/or your company can help support them and their work online at www.nashvilleshakes.org
