Ok, I'll have to admit that I occasionally scan over American Idol and that's exactly what I was doing when low and behold, I saw a few familiar faces.
As you can imagine, I clicked the mute button off just to make sure that they were same musicians that had crossed my path on my ventures into the Nashville Music Scene. Sure enough, I later confirmed from the American Idol site, that a few of the former Nashville Star alumi have captured spots over on AI's top list for this season's show.
I'll have to say that it couldn't have happened to any nicer (or more talented) folks than Brent Keith (NS2) and Kristen McNamera (NS4). Brent & Kristen have definitely put in some serious time on the local scene but they have also gone beyond just making the regular rounds on Music Row.
Both are known (at least in my circles) to readily donate their time to any number of local charities or organizations when asked to do so. To me, their willingness to contribute and share their craft so freely speaks louder than the lyrics of their song... So Nashvillians make sure to Stay Tuned in to American Idol this season, enjoy the show, and watch as these local musicians shine.
If you're trying to keep up with the Nashville Connections on AI this year, as far as I know, there are also two more contestants who made it into the Top 36 and they include Ann Marie Boskovich (originally from Nashville) and local Nashvillian, Ricky Braddy.
