Falcon Rest Mansion set to host Civil War Honeymoon Ball

Friday April 11, 2008
"The Honeymoon Ball of Gen. John Hunt Morgan … His Last Happy Day" is an interactive show that combines a ball given by local poetess Lucy Virginia French to welcome General Morgan and his new bride, Mattie to town on the heals of the invading Union troops who are attempting to capture the elusive couple.
Morgan's Honeymoon Ball premiere includes two days of performances, April 25 and 26 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $27.50 which also includes a delicious meal, inspired by the menu described in Virginia's account of the ball.
If you can't make the premiere, don't fret because if you call up the folks at Falcon Rest they may even schedule an additional performance for your group of 20 or more. Falcon Rest Mansion is located, just a short drive from Nashville, in McMinnville.
