Governor Bredesen's State of the State Address
Sunday January 20, 2008
Gov. Phil Bredesen will be making his State of the State address, from the Tennessee State Capitol, on January 28th at 6p.m.
Viewers can expect him to be addressing the state's budget shortfall and how he expects to balance this year's lean budget without dipping into Rainy Day funds.
Listeners will most likely hear more about the healthy reserves in TennCare, the Tennessee Lottery, and of course, the Rainy Day Fund, but what they probably won't hear is anything about the lack of revenue generated by last year's cigarette tax or anything to do with the cost associated with the renovations of the Governor's Mansion.
You can watch to the State of the State address on Nashville Public Television ( channel 8 ) or online at www.tn.gov
Note: The President's State of the Union address will be aired, immediately following the Governor's State of the State address, at 8 p.m.
