Metro Parks invites Nashvillians to spend their Labor Day around Centennial Park’s beautiful Lake Watauga during LIVE Along the Lake - a free music and arts festival. The lake presents an enjoyable and refreshing backdrop for a relaxing stroll along delightfully landscaped walking paths while listening to live music and viewing art.

From noon to 6:30 PM – on and near Lake Watauga’s lovely walking paths – works for sale by Nashville-area visual artists and craftspeople will be on exhibit. Among the artists and craftspeople present will be; painters Jerry Adams, Olga Alexeeva, Reva Hodges, Nikolai Plavski. and Bernadette Resha, jewelry makers Alejandra Amezcua, Sheila Downs and Hui-Ling Shih, Becky Byrd (hand-made greeting-cards), photographers Charlie Doggett and Joe Fizer and sculptors Gerald Sanders and Alison Touster-Reed.

An added feature to this year’s LIVE Along the Lake are the “Moving Performances” by stilt walkers (3:00 to 6:00) and the Catahoula Brass Band (from 2:00-5:00) – a New Orleans style marching band – who will be “on the move” during the event. The five music stages will present:
· Lake Point Stage: 2:45-4:45 Klezmer Kids, 5:00-6:00 David Peterson and 1946 (Bluegrass)
· Sunken Garden: 2:00-2:45 John Pell (classical guitar, violin, flute) 3:00-5:00 Gypsy Hombres (Jazz)
· North Side of Lake: 2:00-3:30 Old Time Dulcimer Club
· Parthenon Circle: 2:00-6:00 Nashville Old Time String Band Association
· East Side of Lake: 2:00-6:00 Holleman & Company (dramatic arts), Commedia Del Arte (comedy)

Metro Parks encourages the public to wear comfortable shoes and bring blankets and lawn chairs. A variety of food vendors will also be there so you can have lunch and dinner without missing any of the sights and sounds.
