Nashville Zoo Offers Volunteer Open House

On July 8, 2006, the Nashville Zoo will offer an open house for anyone interested in volunteer opportunities at the Zoo. The open house will be held at the Zoo’s Croft Center Gallery from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on July 8.
Zoo Volunteers are integral components of Nashville Zoo.
They are dedicated individuals who provide much of the manpower needed for daily operations, programs, special projects, and events.
From fundraising to education to maintenance and assisting animal staff, hundreds of volunteers get involved at various levels that fit individual time and commitment abilities. The Nashville Zoo Volunteer Program is divided into five parts: Volunteer Corp (ages 18 and older), Docents (ages 18 and older), ZooTeens (ages 12-17), Interns (ages 16 and older) Family Teams and Group or Organizational Volunteers.

Nashville Zoo offers many animal species found around the world. These beautiful creatures can be found in equally beautiful habitats like the new Giraffe Savannah, African Elephant Savannah, Gibbon Islands, Lorikeet Landing, The Unseen New World, Bamboo Trail, and many more.
Nashville Zoo is accredited by the prestigious Association of Zoos and Aquariums assuring the highest standards of animal care and husbandry. The Zoo is a non-profit organization located at 3777 Nolensville Road and is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Admission prices from April through October are $11 for adults, $7 for children 3 to 12, and $9.50 for seniors (65+). All children under the age of 3 are admitted free.
