8th Annual Zoo Egg Hunt Set for April 15

This is a great time of year to visit the Nashville Zoo.Nashville Zoo’s eighth annual Easter celebration, Eggstravaganzoo will be held on April 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Nashville Zoo, 3777 Nolensville Road. Burt’s Bees presents this festive, annual tradition and nearly 8,000 guests are expected to attend. One highlight of this event is the traditional Easter egg hunts for children ages 2 to 10. Nashville Zoo will be distributing 30,000 plastic eggs for the children to find and redeem for prize packs. All children who participate will receive prizes.
The egg hunt times are:
· 11:30 for children ages 2 and 3
· 12:30 p.m. for children ages 4 and 5
· 1:30 p.m. for children ages 6 and 7
· 2:30 p.m. for children ages 8, 9 and 10
All egg hunts will take place in the Zoo’s Festival Field located behind the gift shop. Every one is encouraged to arrive at least an hour before egg hunt times to ensure participation. Eggstravaganzoo is included with Zoo admission. Nashville Zoo is also offering a hunt for larger eggs hidden throughout the Zoo. These eggs can be redeemed at the Mix 92.9 tent for prizes.
Eggstravaganzoo will feature special egg hunts for the animals, educational animal shows at the amphitheater and opportunities to meet some of the animal keepers throughout the day. The event will also offer face painting, tours of the Historic Home, and a chance to meet Master Gardeners who care for the Historic Home’s garden. Burt’s Bees mascot and the Zoo’s giraffe mascot “Twiga” will be at Eggstravaganzoo.
Additionally, a special reservation-only Bunny Breakfast will be offered at 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Eggstravaganzoo is sponsored by Burt’s Bees, Mix 92.9, Nashville Parent, Coca-Cola, Krispy Kreme and Lewis Family Bakers.
Nashville Zoo offers many animal species including cheetah, zebra, ostrich, gibbons, hyacinth macaw and more. In addition, the Zoo offers the Jungle Gym, the country's largest community-built playground, the Grassmere Historic Farm, the beautiful Unseen New World exhibit, exciting animal shows, educational programs and much more.
