USA Network’s Nashville Star™ Contestants Team Up to Fight Lupus

Nashville, TN, June 7, 2005 – On June 13, top contestants from three seasons of USA Network’s hit show Nashville Star™ reunite at a benefit concert. Stars for Hope: A Benefit for the Lupus Foundation of America reunites Season 3 contestants Jody Evans, Justin David and Casey Simpson, Season 2 contestants Brent Keith, Marty Slayton, Jennifer Hicks and Mal Rodgers, and Season 1 contestant Amy Chappell.

“We’re all excited to be participating in this event, which benefits such a worthy cause,” says Marty Slayton, one of the Nashville Star™ contestants who will perform both original and cover songs.

Sherry Hammond, Executive Director of the Mid-South LFA Chapter (LFAM) is thrilled to partner with these talented artists, “Lupus affects 1.5 million Americans, and more than 100,000 new cases develop worldwide every year. This is a fantastic opportunity to increase public awareness for a disease that strikes mostly young women of childbearing years.”

Stars for Hope: A Benefit for the Lupus Foundation of America, Mid South Chapter will be held Monday, June 13 at The Trap at 201 Woodland St. The concert begins at 7 pm. Admission is $15, payable at the door the night of the event. Proceeds from admission and tip jar donations go directly to LFAM.
